“We don't want to sell something that we wouldn't want our families to eat.”
How a simple afternoon outing with a little girl sparked a brand-new philosophy for conscious desserts and wholesome nourishment.
An Afternoon in the Park
It was an ordinary sunny day when founder Nikhita Todupunuri took her young daughter to the playground. After running around, like any energetic child, she looked up and asked for something sweet to eat.
Nikhita looked at the packaged treats nearby: bottles of sugary syrups, chocolates packed with artificial additives, and cookies with unpronounceable chemical stabilizers and synthetic colors. She couldn't bring herself to hand that to her child.
“Why must delicious sweetness always come at the expense of our health? Why can't we give our children pure, real food that actually nourishes them?”
The Kitchen Experiment: Just Three Ingredients
Returning to her kitchen, Nikhita refused to settle. She bloomed organic chia seeds in pure, fragrant coconut milk, and sweetened it simply with pure, natural real honey. Nothing artificial. Zero refined white sugar.
She served it at home. To her delight, it wasn't just her daughter who devoured it. Her husband loved it. Her elderly parents loved it. Three generations found pure joy in a single, nutrient-dense jar.
It was creamy, naturally sweet, rich in omega-3s, and completely guilt-free. The idea began to take root.
Discovering the French Creme Jars
Curiosity turned into passionate culinary exploration. Nikhita began researching traditional French techniques of slow steam-baking cultured dairy. By whisking thick yogurt with rich cream and natural sweetness, then gently oven-steaming it, she created the French Creme Jar—a texture reminiscent of Basque cheesecake meeting silky creme caramel.
She paired it with blueberries simmered slowly with real honey, authentic 70% dark Belgian chocolate, and cinnamon. The dessert world she dreamed of had arrived.
Two Friends, One Kitchen
United by a common clean ingredient love: never compromise on what we feed our families.
When Friends Join Hands: Gourmet Goodness is Born
Friends who visited Nikhita began asking for jars to take home. Soon, they were asking for recipes and weekly orders for their own children and fitness routines.
Her close friend, Pallavi Thangedipally, recognized the transformative power of this idea. Pallavi joined Nikhita in the kitchen, bringing precision, passion, and operational excellence to turn a home-kitchen passion project into an artisanal brand.
Together, they spent months perfecting every batch, analyzing nutrition down to the gram, sourcing honest producers, and formulating the brand we know today: Gourmet Goodness.
